DAAD Call: Ukraine digital – Ensuring academic success in times of crisis
19.05.22Support Ukrainian higher education partners: The war in Ukraine has had a devastating impact on the infrastructure of the Ukrainian education and higher education system. The DAAD therefore awards funding programmes for university members and fellow students living in/from Ukraine. The programme focuses on the rapid establishment and implementation of virtual courses. The application deadline is 31.05.2022.
With the programme line Ukraine digital: Ensuring Academic Success in Times of Crisis (Ukraine digital), the DAAD aims to support Ukrainian higher education institutions in maintaining, implementing and offering their digital teaching programmes. At the same time, refugee Ukrainian students at the German higher education institution are offered a virtual platform to continue and complete their ongoing studies in Ukraine.
The programme line therefore focuses on the rapid establishment and implementation of virtual offerings. German higher education institutions are to support their Ukrainian higher education partners so that students and academics from and in Ukraine are given the prospect of continuing their academic careers despite the restrictions imposed by the war. The programmes objectives are:
- Objective 1: The need for virtual teaching for ongoing courses in Ukraine has been determined.
- Objective 2: Virtual courses are expanded, offered, and used by students.
- Objective 3: Ukrainian scientists/researchers and lecturers of higher education institutions, especially those who have fled, are involved in the courses.
- Objective 4: The expertise and structural framework for further digitalisation of the participating German and Ukrainian higher education institutions are available and can be used for the development of further joint virtual and Ukrainian virtual courses as well as for the reconstruction of the higher education institutions.
