After studying mathematics/computer science, Dr Andreas Lingnau completed his doctorate in 2005 on the topic of "Supporting learning processes in a computer-supported classroom" at the University of Duisburg-Essen. This was followed by stays at the Leibniz-Institut für Wissensmedien (IWM) in Tübingen, the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow/Scotland and the KU Eichstätt-Ingolstadt.  

From 2013 to 2016, he worked as a lecturer and Course Developer ICT at the company SGM in Berlin, before joining the Saxon Academy of Sciences in Leipzig in 2016 for 3 years as a research associate in the field of Digital Humanities. At the same time, he was an adjunct lecturer at the Institute of Computer Science at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Since February 2019, he has worked as a lecturer for special tasks at the HRW.
