The digitization of teaching and learning is a university-wide task that requires strategic discussion. The Hochschulforum Digitalisierung supports higher education institutions by providing consultation, information, networking and qualification in the formation of strategies with regard to studying and teaching with many different offers. On this page you will find an overview.

Consultation

Universities: peer-to-peer strategy consulting

With peer-to-peer strategy consulting, the Hochschulforum Digitalisierung offers interested universities a development and support tool at eye level. The goal of the program is to institutionally anchor and strategically strengthen digitization in teaching and learning at universities. Departments: Peer-to-peer faculty consultation

The program supports faculties and departments in the strategic, methodological and content-related further development of studying and teaching in the context of digitization at universities. Information

Magazine “strategie digital”

The magazine strategie digital is aimed at the strategic decision-makers at universities. The magazine is published twice a year free of charge and is dedicated to one main topic each time. The focus of the first magazine from October 2021 is “(Digital) Leadership”. The second magazine was published in March 2022 and revolves around the topic of “Blended University”.

HFD Strategy Benchmark

The HFD Strategy Benchmark supports universities in determining the current status of the strategy process. It offers orientation based on different fields of action and enables comparison with other universities in Germany.

Practical examples

At HFD Showroom examples of good practice at the level of strategic university development are made visible. The aim is to provide universities with support and guidance regarding their strategic development in the field of teaching in the digital age.

Strategy dossier

The dossier “Strategy” bundles approaches to strategy formation and development by selected experts and provides an overview of HFD publications on this topic. Here you can access the dossier.

Networking

HFDlead – Network for Strategy & Digitalization

In the HFDlead network program for strategy & digitization, we bring together decision-makers who deal with digitization strategies in teaching and learning at various levels. In tandem teams, an intensive exchange between participants succeeds with an established peer-to-peer approach. In addition, the one-year tandem process is embedded in a structured framework program. Past events (conferences & workshops)

In the past years, conferences and workshops have been part of the Hochschulforum Digitalisierung’s activities in the field of strategy to give participants from the strategy programs in particular, but also all other interested parties, the opportunity to exchange ideas, network and share your insights with the university community. Since 2020, the topic of strategy has been addressed in overarching HFD events, such as the University:Future Festivalwith dedicated tracks on strategy and leadership. Here you will find an overview of the event between 2017 and 2019.

Qualification

Self-study course

At Self-study course “Basics for digitization strategies in teaching and learning”. interested parties can acquire basic knowledge about digitization in studying and teaching in six learning units, independent of time and place. A workbook with course assignments and communication channels to engage in discussion with other course participants are available.

HFD Strategy Workshop

The HFD Strategy Workshop is offered at irregular intervals to deepen individual strategy topics. It is aimed at actors who are responsible for and support digitization processes and strategies. Authentic and complex cases are worked on in small groups.

Online course and learning communities

The online course “Fundamentals for Digitization Strategies in Study and Teaching” took place in June/July 2021 and offered an introduction to the topic of strategy development and digitization. More information and all materials can be found in the course documentation.
