Prof. Dr. Andreas Schleicher is currently the Director for the OECD’s Directorate of Education and Skills. He studied physics with a focus on statistics in Hamburg and went on to study mathematics at the Deakin University, where he graduated with a Master of Science. He joined the OECD in 1994, where he worked for in Centre for Educational Research and Innovation and later became  leader of the OECD's Indicators and Analysis Division. Andreas Schleicher his furthermore responsible for the PISA Programme. In 2006, the University of Heidelberg made him Honorary Professor in the Faculty of Behavioral and Cultural Studies
