Editor’s Pick: Five Highlights at the University:Future Festival 2025

16.04.25

Rasmus works at the Stifterverband and the European Digital Education Hub – and shares what he is particularly looking forward to at the University:Future Festival 2025. From AI in education to interoperability and setting the course for education policy: For him, there is plenty of future potential in the program – and the best conversations start during the coffee break.

One item on the program that I definitely don’t want to miss is…

📌… “Interoperability Unlocked: The future of shared campuses in European higher education”. Interoperability in higher ed is a super exciting topic, but it’s also not exactly easy. I’ve worked with the speakers Channa van der Brug and Bettina Benzinger before – they always have really interesting things to share.

➡️ May 13, 13:45 – 14:15 PM, Digital 1

More information on the topic of interoperability

I am particularly looking forward to…

📌 … the different sessions on the TU Graz stage around AI in education, like Academic Writing: A Field Experiment Testing GPT’s Ability to Foster Clarity and Efficiency. Figuring out how to use AI meaningfully in education is such a fascinating question and it’s tied to so many important topics.

➡️ May 14, 2025, 12:15 – 12:45 pm, AI:Stage TU Graz

This session could change my view of the future…

📌 A session that really has the potential to shape the future is Intro to Prompt Engineering. Learning how to engage properly with large language models and making sure we’re using them to their full potential is super relevant – for learners, teachers, admin staff, and basically everyone. And it’s only going to get more important in the future.

➡️ May 13, 11:40 AM – 12:45 PM, Digital 4

If I could only attend one keynote, it would be…

📌 … the Virtual Campus Creation: A Multimedia Playbook. How to create and develop virtual learning spaces is another very relevant topic. This particular one is a result of a US-Germany cooperation, so it is not only virtual but also international. I have seen some similar examples of this already, and I suspect there will be more of them in the coming years.

➡️ May 13, 11:40 AM – 12:15 PM, Future-Tech:Stage TU Braunschweig

One topic that should not be missing from U:FF 2025 is…

📌And finally – something that definitely can’t be missing from U:FF 2025: the coffee breaks! For everyone joining in Berlin, Graz, Braunschweig, Zurich or Nuremberg – make sure to grab a coffee with someone you don’t know yet and learn more about their work . U:FF is an amazing place to meet new people!

ℹ️ The U:FF makes it possible to attend the festival from any location: all content contributions are available to stream on our event platform during the event. Register now and be there! Find out more about the stages or register directly! 🚀
