Sebastian Horndasch arbeitet seit 2015 für das Hochschulforum Digitalisierung. Er leitet das University:Future Festival, die größte deutschsprachige Veranstaltung zu Innovationen in der Hochschulbildung. Vorher leitete er die Kommunikation des Hochschulforums. Thematisch interessiert er sich besonders für Künstliche Intelligenz, Openness und soziale Fragen.

Vor dem HFD arbeitete Sebastian als Projektmanager bei Wikimedia Deutschland, wo er die Aktivitäten zu Open Educational Ressources verantwortete. Sebastian hat einen Master in Bildungsmanagement von der Helwan University Kairo und der PH Ludwigsburg sowie einen Master in Volkswirtschaftslehre von der University of Nottingham. Im Bachelor studierte er Staatswissenschaften in Erfurt.
