Bologna goes Digital

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) cordially invites you to the conference

Bologna Goes Digital,
which will take place on
26 September 2018
at the Allianzforum Pariser Platz
in Berlin, Germany.

The conference is embedded in the annual topic week Shaping the Digital Turn of the German Forum for Higher Education in the Digital Age (Hochschulforum Digitalisierung). It aims at examining the linkages between digitisation and internationalisation in Europe and beyond. Together with participants from Europe and Germany we will explore the role of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Europe in supporting student learning and mobility concepts in the digital world.

The main target groups for the event are representatives from HEIs, policy-makers, and stakeholders interested in European higher education, research and innovation policy.

As a keynote speaker we are proud to announce Prof. Dr. Valérie Lemarquand, University Attaché at the Embassy of France in Germany. She has agreed to share her vast experience in the field of the private sector, universities and public administration in her input “How digitisation will change the face of the Bologna Process and the Higher Education landscape in Europe.”

Key questions that will be discussed during the conference are:

  • Focusing on digitisation and internationalisation: are both concepts aligned and how do they influence each other? What are the opportunities of digitisation applied to internationalisation? How will digitisation shape the internationalisation of German HEIs and their strategic global positioning?
  • Peer learning and stocktaking with European experts: what has been done in the field of digitisation and internationalisation and what are the major flagship projects around Europe?

Furthermore, the conference aims at:

  • Generating ideas for future projects and collaboration opportunities among actors;
  • Providing networking opportunities for experts from HEIs around Europe.
