About our qualification programmes

In Hochschulforum Digitalisierung (HFD), we train university staff – from employees and teachers to students and science managers – to help shape digital transformations independently. Our goal is to foster individual and collective growth by offering targeted skill-building initiatives for those who want to develop their universities into innovative places of learning for the future.

An approach based on three pillars was developed for the qualification initiatives in the Hochschulforum Digitalisierung.

Cooperation with visionaries and experts

In partnership with experts and pioneers, we identify current issues and visionary ideas for shaping the educational landscape. In the course of the exchange, qualification measures will be developed that identify a special focus on future trends in education.

Sustainability in the community

The HFD’s qualification programmes incorporate the valuable practical knowledge of the university community. Accordingly, the focus is on best practices and successful approaches that have already been tried and tested by committed university staff. These authentic experiences form the foundation for our qualification measures and provide connectable solutions that can have a lasting effect in the specific contexts of the universities.

Smart learning designs

The immense power of networked learning forms the third pillar. HFD qualification initiatives allow participants to learn with and from each other. True to our motto “learning in networks”, formal and informal learning settings are created.

The following learning settings take place in the HFD:

  1. Basic knowledge through self-learning opportunities: We make our self-study offerings available to the HFD community for use free of charge. Our online courses, videos, and workbooks provide foundational knowledge on specific topics such as digitization strategies, accessibility, and connected learning. This offer is continuously expanded in order to always provide up-to-date content.

  2. Development of prototype solutions in experimental rooms: The Hochschulforum Digitalisierung promotes and accompanies knowledge transfer between universities and offers a community-based exchange format with the HFD workshops. In the HFD workshops and labs, participants work together to develop solutions to authentic challenges from university practice.

  3. Design in educational programs: The Hochschulforum Digitalisierung regularly offers in-service training programs for designers at universities. These programs allow students to acquire knowledge, network in learning communities, and work on hands-on projects. This allows participants to develop their skills and work on their own projects while being guided by experienced professionals.

Please note that current dates and announcements will be posted in our “News” section as well as in the calendar of events.
